CONTACT YOUR SENATOR AND ASK HIM/HER TO SIGN A LETTER BEING DISTRIBUTED IN THE SENATE THAT WILL BE SENT TO THE PRESIDENT OF CYPRUS THANKING CYPRUS’S ROLE IN ASSISTING THE EVACUATION OF U.S. CITIZENS AND OTHERS LEAVING LEBANON

BACKGROUND:

The American Hellenic Institute would like to bring to your attention a letter that has been initiated in the Senate addressed to the President of Cyprus. The letter is the following:

  1. Letter initiated by Senator Menendez (D-NJ), Senator Sarbanes (D-MD), and Senator Olympia Snowe (R-ME) to thank Cyprus for their role in assisting the evacuation of U.S. citizens and others leaving Lebanon.

Please be advised that the letter will be circulating in the Senate to gather signatures before being sent to the President of Cyprus. Therefore, please contact your senator immediately and ask him/her to sign this letter by August 4, 2006. This is when the Senate goes into recess for August.

ACTION REQUESTED—CALL, FAX, or E-MAIL:

  1. Contact your senator and ask him/her to sign the letter circulating in the Senate.
